Lok Sabha 'no-confidence' motion: Speaker adjourns House after disruption by TRS MPs

The Lok Sabha was adjourned till Monday after Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MPs stormed the well of the Lok Sabha.

Ahead of the crucial "no confidence" motion,  Congress leader Renuka Chowdhury said the Centre has exposed itself, it shows the party does not stand by any ally.

"Our commitment to people of Andhra Pradesh continues and this government has no business to take away that right of ours. It is only right that we fight collectively, it is the principle we are fighting on," the former Congress cabinet minister said.

Reports say southern parties DMK, TRS are still undecided over their support to the "no-confidence" motion even as hectic efforts are underway backstage to cobble together an anti-BJP coalition inside Parliament.

Chief of MIM Asaduddin Owaisi said he will support the "no-confidence" motion against the NDA.

Owaisi said he will support the motion due to Modi government's failure to implement State Reorganisation Act.

"The government has failed to fulfil their promise to provide employment to the youth," he said. 

As the issue of "no-confidence" motion set to be moved by YSR Congress raised political temperature in the capital on Friday morning, the Lok Sabha was adjourned till 12 pm.

As chief minister Chandrababu Naidu-led TDP exited the NDA coalition government at the Centre over its refusal to grant "special status" to Andhra Pradesh, the Congress quickly moved in to announce it will support the "no confidence" motion against the ruling NDA in the Lok Sabha.

Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee President N Raghuveera Reddy said his party will support the "no confidence" move against the NDA as TDP's row with the BJP took centrestage today.

Meanwhile, West Bengal chief minister Mamata has backed TDP's move, Mamata said: "I welcome the TDP's decision to leave the NDA. The current situation warrants such action to save the country from disaster."

 "I appeal to all political parties in the Opposition to work closely together against atrocities, economic calamity and political instability," the West Bengal chief minister added.
