Two civilian have sustained injuries after an explosive went off when they were fiddling with it in Damhal area of Kulgam in south Kashmir.

The duo has sustained minor injuries and was shifted to a local hospital for treatment. 

''Two individuals have reportedly sustained minor injuries today due to an explosive substance which exploded when they were apparently fiddling with it in their neighbourhood,'' police said in a statement. 

The injured have been identified as Shahid and Ikhlaq. Hospitals authorities said that both were in a stable condition and one among the two were discharged after preliminary medical treatment.

''Police has taken cognizance and is probing the circumstances of the blast,'' police said in a statement.
