An Indian Army soldier was on Wednesday lost his life in ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops in Kashmir's Keran sector.

Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked and indiscriminate firing on forward posts across the Line of Control (LoC), United News of India reported.

Indian troops alsoretaliated. The soldier was injured in the cross exchange of fire and rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead.

Ceasefire violations by Pakistan across the LoC have spiked in the past one year.
