A driver with the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) kept on driving for nearly 70 kilometres without realising that a dead body was stuck to the undercarriage of the bus.

The 45-year-old driver usually operates from the Shantinagar depot. He was en-route Bengaluru from Coonoor via Tamil Nadu.

According to the driver, he felt a thud around 70 kilometres before reaching Bengaluru but never realised that it could be a body. The bus reached Bengaluru around 2.30 am while the body was discovered around 8 in the morning when the bus reached the depot for washing.

The victim was unidentified until late Saturday night. The driver has 10 years of driving experience and remains in custody.
