A deadly fire which tore through Mumbai's Kamala Mills complex on Friday has claimed 14 lives. The majority of those killed were women attending a birthday party at a rooftop restaurant.
More than a dozen people were taken to nearby hospitals and two were in critical condition.

- The fire department received a call about the blaze around 12:30 am.
- The fire started from 1 Above rooftop restaurant in Kamala Mills building. The fire is thought to have been caused by a short circuit.
- The blaze quickly spread to two adjacent bars, destroying the entire building in 30 minutes.
- More than 12 fire tenders were rushed to fight the blaze.
- A rescue operation was launched to pull out the people trapped inside the pub.
- The fire was finally brought under control around 6.30 am.
- An FIR has been registered against the 1 Above restaurant.
- It added that the transmission of a number of television channels which have their offices at Kamala Mills was affected.
