In what came as a surprise to many, two of the biggest stars in Tamil cinema and new political entrants Rajinikanth and Kamal Haasan met at the former’s residence at Poes Garden in Chennai.
The meeting, which lasted for less than 15 minutes, came ahead of Haasan’s official entry into politics on February 21, when he plans to reveal his party name and unveil the party flag at a public meeting in Madurai.
The two actors addressed the media separately after the meeting.
''It’s a courtesy call, not a political meeting. I came to inform him about my political tour. He wished me good luck.'' said Kamal Haasan after meeting Rajinikanth.
Only time will tell, was all Kamal Haasan's response to a question on forming an alliance with Rajinikanth.
''Kamal (Haasan) wants to serve the people of Tamil Nadu. I pray to God that he attains success. He has not entered politics for fame or money but only to serve people of the state,'' said Rajinikanth after meeting Kamal Haasan at his residence in Chennai.
