A 20-year-old footballer who had joined Pakistan-backed Lashkar-e-Taiba(LeT) surrendered before security forces in Kashmir today.

The footballer, Majid Khan who belongs to Kashmir's Anantnag district is a student of Government Boy's Degree College.

Khan had reportedly hinted he wanted to join the LeT in a Facebook post last month.

Majid's decision to join the terrorist outfit had outraged his family, with several members including his mother calling him to come back home.

Reports said Majid's decision to join the terrorist outfit after his close friend Yawar Nissar was killed in an encounter with security forces in south Kashmir in August.
