Jammu and Kashmir: Two terrorists killed in encounter with security forces in Baramulla district

Two terrorists were killed in an encounter with security forces in Jammu and Kashmir's Baramulla district on Thursday.

According to police, the encounter broke out earlier today in Dangerporavillage in Sopore area.

"On a credible input, a cordon and search operation was launched jointly by police and security forces in Dangerpora area of Sopore. During the search operation, the hiding terrorists fired on the search party. The fire was retaliated leading to an encounter," police said in a statement.

The identities of the terrorists are yet unknown.

Earlier, the security forces had got a major breakthrough when one of the most wanted terrorists, Zakir Musa, was killed in an encounter in Tral in Pulwama on May 24.
