An encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Bandipora area on Monday morning killed two terrorists, ANI reported. Reports also suggest the possibility of one more militant killed, however, the same has not been confirmed yet.
A fresh gunfight broke out between the militants and the joint team of Indian Army's 14 RR in Jammu and Kashmir's dense forest area of Panar on Monday.
On June 14, two militants and an army soldier were killed in the operation that was launched on June 9. Militants and Army forces exchanged brief gunfight in Raynar forests close to Panar area. The operation has been continuing and spilt into its 10th straight day today.
The Indian Army is still looking out for hiding militants.
Meanwhile, the Border Security Force is set to create a team of snipers to tackle the increasing movement of infiltrating militants across the J&K border, say intelligence agencies.
The team aims to check and avert any untoward event ahead of the Amarnath Yatra. Intelligence agencies suggest militant activity at launching pads across the border aiming to sneak into the valley.
