According to reports, Jammu and Kashmir security forces successfully defused an improvised explosive device today in Pulwama district. The explosive was found in a bucket on Pulwama-Sirnoo road in the south Kashmir district, a police official said.

The security in the valley as well as in parts of Pulwama district has been tightened as separatists observed a strike today on the second death anniversary of Hizbul Mujahideen commander Burhan Wani. Restrictions were imposed in Pulwama and Tral townships.

The attack came less than 24 hours after terrorists launched a grenade attack at a joint camp of the CRPF and Indian Army's Rashtriya Rifles in Pulwama district. No casualties or injuries were reported.

Three civilians, including a teenage girl, were killed and several others injured in an alleged firing by security forces on stone-pelting protesters in Kulgam district of Jammu and Kashmir, on Saturday.
