Jammu and Kashmir: 1 soldier killed in encounter with terrorists in Kupwara

Asecurity personnel was killed while another was critically injured in an encounter between security forces and terrorists in Jammu and Kashmir's Kupwara.

The encounter took place in the Handwara region of the district.

The police had launched a search and cordon operation last evening after they got information that some terrorists were present in the area.

The search and cordon operationwas still underway in the region.
