A BSF soldier and four civilians have lost their livesin a ceasefire violation in Jammu and Kashmiron Friday.

The Pakistani troops opened fire in J&K's RS Pura sector and Arnia sector killing two civilians and one soldier from RS Pura and two civilians in Arnia.

The soldier killed in the violation hailed from Jharkhand and is survived by a three-year-old daughter and one-year-old son.

In the wake of theongoing gunbattle in theregion, the RS Pura sector administration has declared a shut down of schools within 3 kmsof the border.

The year 2017 had seen an unprecedented spike in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan along the line of control.

The Pakistani army had violated the ceasefire agreement over 860 times killing over 15 soldiers while injuring 58 armypersonnel last year.
