A special Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) court on Wednesday granted bail to former finance minister P. Chidambaram's son Karti Chidambaram's chartered accountant S Bhaskararaman in connection with the INX media case.

Bhaskararaman earlier approached the court seeking anticipatory bail fearing arrest by the CBI in the case.

On March 26, The Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had filed a reply in the CBI Special Court and opposed Bhaskararaman's anticipatory bail plea.

Bhaskararaman was arrested from a hotel in Delhi on February 16 and was later sent to sent judicial custody.

The Supreme Court on Monday suspended further hearing on an alleged money laundering case filed against Karti Chidambaram till April 27, reports said.

With this ruling, the interim protection previously granted to Karti, who cannot be arrested by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) till the next date of hearing, is extended.

In March 26 hearing, Karti's interim protection was extended from March 26 to April 2. An interim protection was given to him by the Supreme Court against an arrest by the ED.
