Hardeep Singh Nijjar murder case: The four Indian-origin men accused of killing Khalistani separatist leader Hardeep Singh Nijjar have reportedly been granted bail by a Canadian court on Wednesday (Jan 8), claim several social media posts.
The men, identified as 22-year-old Karan Brar, 22-year-old Amandeep Singh, 22-year-old Kamalpreet Singh, and 28-year-old Karanpreet Singh, are facing the charges of first-degree murder and conspiracy to commit murder.
What next?
According to viral posts on X, the trial has been moved to the British Columbia Supreme Court, and the next hearing is scheduled for February 11.

Nijjar, a designated terrorist in India, was killed in British Columbia's Surrey. On June 18, 2023, he was gunned down outside the Guru Nanak Sikh Gurudwara.
Who was Hardeep Singh Nijjar?
According to the Khalistan Extremism Monitor of the New Delhi-based independent Institute for Conflict Management, Hardeep Singh Nijjar was born in 1977 in Punjab and moved to Canada 20 years later, where he worked as a plumber.
He was initially associated with the Babbar Khalsa International (BKI) Sikh separatist group.
Nijjar later became chief of the militant group Khalistan Tiger Force (KTF) and was "actively involved in operationalising, networking, training and financing" its members, according to a statement released by the Indian government in 2020.
In this same statement, New Delhi officially categorised him as a terrorist.
