TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu to take oath as Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister on June 12 at 9.27 am near Kesarapalli IT Park, Gannavaram, Krishna District, Andhra Pradesh CMO said. 

Jharkhand Congress chief Rajesh Thakur said, "Since the very start we have been receiving the guidance of Sonia Gandhi. As CPP chairman, we will keep receiving the guidance. It is a happy moment for all of us & I want to congratulate her..."

Congress leader Salman Khurshid said, "It is a matter of great happiness for us. The party leadership works under her guidance...It is obvious that this was bound to happen..."

Congress leader Ghulam Ahmad Mir said, "I congratulate Sonia ji. Everyone in the country will be happy that Sonia ji has been chosen as the CPP...She has served a long time as a Parliamentarian...The way Rahul Gandhi has set an agenda for the backward, tribals, unemployed youth, women, farmers, and labourers. Congress leader Shashi Tharoor said, "Everybody wants his (Rahul Gandhi) leadership...Now we have 234 MPs of the INDIA alliance. When we work together, the government will have to face a very strong opposition. For which a very strong voice is needed, which can only be that of Rahul Gandhi."

JD(U) leader Md Zama Khan said, "You can see that the government is going to be formed and we support it. He (PM Modi) is going to become the Prime Minister for the third time. The country has some expectations and Bihar also hopes for development."

On Sonia Gandhi being made the chairperson of the Congress Parliamentary Party, Congress leader Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury said, "It is natural...Everyone wants Rahul Gandhi to become the leader of the opposition."

On arrangements for the swearing-in ceremony of PM-designate Narendra Modi, DCP Traffic Prashant Gautam said, "We have made comprehensive arrangements for tomorrow's oath ceremony...Almost 1100 traffic staff have been deployed...An advisory has been issued...Proper arrangements have been made for the foreign delegates arriving for the oath ceremony..."

Kishori Lal Sharma, Congress party's newly-elected MP from Amethi spoke on expectations from the NDA government. 

He said, "They should fulfil the promises they made."  

The Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) will be given two ministries in Narendra Modi's new cabinet, India's NDTV reported while citing sources within the party.

Bhubaneswar: Odisha DGP said, "PM is coming for the oath-taking ceremony. So, we are making arrangements. The Special Protection Group team has already arrived. We are deploying sufficient number of forces. We are expecting many VIPs, CMs, MoS and other VIPs to attend the function. So accordingly, we will be making security arrangements." 

"There will be arrangements for a traffic diversion plan. We are hopeful that everything will pass smoothly. We have not received any confirmation from any state government. But we are expecting that by this evening, we will be receiving confirmation from various governments about the participation of the CMs," he added. 

Jharkhand Congress chief Rajesh Thakur spoke after the Congress CWC meeting. He said, "Rahul Gandhi should be made the LOP as he has travelled 11,000 km and heard the problems of the public...25 guarantees have been given through the 'Nyay Patra'...We are hopeful that Rahul Gandhi will accept our request..." 

Congress leader Rahul Gandhi had secured wins in both, Wayanad and Raebareli constituencies. Media reports have claimed that he might vacate the Wayanad seat. The Uttar Pradesh Congress Committee (UPCC) has apparently recommended Gandhi's name for Raebareli. 

So far, there's no official confirmation. 

Congress Working Committee members have passed the resolution that Rahul Gandhi should be appointed as the leader of the party in Lok Sabha, says sources.

BJP's winning candidate from North East Delhi, Manoj Tiwari says, "Tomorrow Narendra Modi will take oath as the Prime Minister of this country for the third time. I believe that in these 5 years, the country will see a lot of positive things."

Bangladesh PM Sheikha Hasina arrives in New Delhi to attend oath-taking ceremony of PM-Designate Narendra Modi.

The weekly Change of Guard ceremony has been cancelled by Rashtrapati Bhavan on June 8, 15, and 22 because of the ongoing preparations for the oath-taking ceremony at its forecourt and President Droupadi Murmu's planned address to both the houses of the parliament.

"The Change of Guard ceremony will not take place on June 8, 15 and 22, 2024 at Rashtrapati Bhavan due to the preparation for the Swearing-in-Ceremony of Prime Minister and Council of Ministers at Forecourt, Rashtrapati Bhavan and address to both the Houses of Parliament by the President," it said in a statement.

A multi-layered security cordon has been formed by the Special Protection Group (SPG), the National Security Guard (NSG), armed paramilitary forces and the Delhi Police near the Rashtrapati Bhavan where the swearing-in ceremony will take place.

Three-layered security will be implemented both inside and outside the premises as the president's house will remain blanketed by five companies of paramilitary personnel, NSG commandoes, drones and snipers.

Meanwhile, a high alert has already been declared in the city and security has also been enhanced near hotels where the world leaders will stay and along the routes that the foreign dignitaries will be using.

The Delhi Police said that the use of sub-conventional aerial platforms - like paragliders, drones along with other unmanned aerial vehicles and aircraft systems (UAVs and UAS) - remained banned in the national capital from Sunday (June 2) to Monday (June 3).

As per the order, police decided to declare a no-fly zone after receiving information that “criminals and terrorists inimical to India may pose a threat to the safety of the general public, dignitaries, and vital installations by the use of such platforms”.

Narendra Modi is set to visit the Raj Ghat on Saturday (June 8) to pay homage to Mahatma Gandhi before his swearing-in ceremony as the prime minister for the third time.

Narendra Modi's supporters have been planning to celebrate his third swearing-in ceremony in 22 cities across the United States, stated a senior leader from Overseas Friends of BJP-USA.
 

BJP is holding a meeting at Amit Shah's Residence in New Delhi to review the preparations underway for the swearing-in ceremony of Narendra Modi.

BJP office bearers, a few state chiefs, morcha chiefs and Delhi state unit leaders were present at the meeting. BJP National General Secretary BL Santosh chaired the meeting.

The Congress Working Committee's meeting began in Delhi. In the meeting, Congress Parliamentary Party Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, party MP Rahul Gandhi, party's general secretary Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, and other party leaders were present.
 

President Droupadi Murmu will host a banquet at the Rashtrapati Bhavan on the same evening after the swearing-in ceremony. 
 

In a statement, India's Rashtrapati Bhavan said President Droupadi Murmu will administer the oath of office and secrecy to Prime Minister-in-waiting Narendra Modi along with Union Council of Ministers at 7.15 pm on June 09.

Narendra Modi met President Droupadi Murmu on June 7 and staked a claim to form the government. While speaking to the media, Modi said, “The President has appointed me as PM-designate. I assure you that the speed with which the country progressed in the previous terms, will continue to do so."
