India G20 tourism meet LIVE: Meeting to focus on five key areas

India is set to hold the G20 tourism working group meeting in Jammu and Kashmir's Srinagar from 22nd to 24th May. Srinagar is all decked up and security has been put in place ahead of the big event that aims to boost economic growth in the region by also preserving its cultural heritage and promoting sustainable development.

Delegates at the G20 tourism working group meeting have begun to arrive in Srinagar to participate in the key international event which is being held from 22-24 May. Indian union tourism secretary Arvind Singh said that G20 delegates are arriving in Srinagar in the largest number for the three-day working group's meeting in J&K's Srinagar city. He also noted that some countries will not be attending the event for logistic reasons.

Singapore High Commissioner Simon Wong arrives in India's Srinagar ahead of the G20 tourism working group. "Just landed in beautiful Srinagar for the #G20Kashmir 3rd Working Group Meeting on Tourism. Security has been intensified in India's Srinagar in view of the landmark G20 tourism working group meet. National Security Guard (NSG) and MARCOS commandos are deployed around the G20 meet venue. Moreover, Jammu and Kashmir Police's special operation group (SOG) will also be deployed to prevent any terror event. This comes as G20 delegates are due to arrive for the meeting shortly.
