A seven-year-old student of a private school in Aligarh's Lodha police station area was allegedly abused physically by his teacher after he forgot to bring his school bag on Wednesday (September 25), according to a report by the Times of India.

The boy returned home in tears and told his mother about the incident, which led the family to lodge a complaint with the police. The investigation began on Monday, as per the report.

Dilip Kumar, who lives in Bharat Nagla village, told TOI that his son James, who is a student of UKG at a school near Khereshwar Dham temple, was dropped by his grandfather on the day of the incident, as Dilip was away and his wife was unwell.

The family claims that when the child realised he had forgotten his school bag, the teacher reacted violently. "The teacher beat him badly," Dilip was cited as saying by TOI.

"They removed his clothes and shoes, gave him electric shocks and subjected him to extreme cruelty," Dilip added. The traumatised child left school during break and shared the experience with his mother.

The family immediately confronted the school and reported the matter to the police. Rajveer Singh Parmar, the in-charge at Lodha police station, and his team visited the school for investigation. Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) Ranjan Sharma was cited saying by TOI, "We have started questioning the school staff and administrators. A case will be registered based on the written complaint."

The school’s principal denied the allegations, saying, "The complaints of the child being subjected to electric shock are wrong. We are ready to show CCTV footage. The allegations are unsubstantiated."
