Home Minister Amit Shah to introduce J&K Reservation Bill in Upper House on Monday

Union Home Minister Amit Shah will introduce Jammu and Kashmir Reservation (Second Amendment) Bill, 2019 on Monday in Rajya Sabha (Upper House of parliament).

This Bill is to implement 10 per cent Economically Weaker Section (EWS) quota in Jammu and Kashmir.

Earlier, the Union Cabinet approved the Jammu andKashmir Reservation (2nd Amendment) Bill, 2019.

The 10 per cent quota Bill to economically weaker sections was introduced through the 103rd Constitution Amendment in January.

The Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha cleared the bill on January 8 and 9 respectively, and it has been signed by President Ram Nath Kovind.

Meanwhile, a meeting is underway between Amit Shah, Home Secretary Rajiv Gauba and National Security Advisor Ajit Doval, at the Parliament.
