High Court seeks response from Pranab Mukherjee over his book for allegedly 'hurting Hindu sentiments'

The Delhi High Court on Friday sought a reply from former President Pranab Mukherjee on a suit filed against him in connection with his book 'Turbulent Years 1980- 1996'.

The case filed against him seeks deletion of some portions of his book which talks about the demolition of Babri Masjid in Ayodhya.

The suit is filed for allegedly hurting Hindu sentiments.

The lower court had earlier on November 30, 2016 rejected the plea seeking deletion of the contents of thebook.

The next hearing of the case is reserved for July 30.

The book was released in 2016.
