A 19-year-old girl from Haryana's Rewari village was allegedly gang-raped after she was kidnapped when she returning from her coaching class.
The girl, who topped the CBSE board exam was facilitated by the President. She was on her way back from a coaching centre in Kanina in Mahendragarh district of Haryana when the incident took place.
Two men arrived and kidnapped her before dragging her to a field where she was gang-raped after being given a drink which left her unconscious, AS Chawla, ADGP Operations, Haryana, told ANI.
When she regained consciousness, she found out that one more man was present. The men then dropped her back and called her parents to tell them about her location.
An FIR has been registered against the three men, who are still at large.
Medical examinations of the victim have been done, Chawla informed.
Earlier, an official of Women Police station, Rewari, told PTI that a 'zero FIR' was lodged on the complaint of the woman, and the investigation was being conducted by the Mahendergarh police as the incident occurred under their jurisdiction.
"Modi ji says 'Beti Padho, Beti Bacho', but how? I want justice for my daughter. Police havetaken no action yet," the girl's mother told ANI.
According to reports, the family of the teenager also alleged that the perpetrators had threatened to kill the teenager if she reported the crime to the police.
