Hours after Supreme Court dismissed the review pleas filed by three of the four convicts seekingreduction of their death sentence to a life term in Nirbhaya case, Nirbhaya's parents said that the decision reaffirmed their trust in the court.

Asha Devi, the mother of 2012 Delhi gangrape victim, requested judiciary to tightenjudicial system and serve justice to Nirbhaya by hanging the culprits as soon as possible.

''Our struggle does not end here. Justice is getting delayed. It's affecting other daughters of the society. I request judiciary to tighten their judicial system, serve justice to Nirbhaya by hanging them as soon as possible and help other girls and women,'' said Asha Devi, mother of 2012 Delhi gangrape victim on SC's dismissal of the convicts' review petition.

Stating that the culprits were not juveniles, she said It is unfortunate that they committed such crime. ''This decision reaffirms our trust in the court that we will definitely get justice,'' she added.

Badrinath Singh, the father of the victim, said they knew that review petition will be dismissed. But what next? So much time has gone by and the threat to women have gone up in this span, he said and added ''I believe sooner they're hanged, better it is''.

Meanwhile, AP Singh, Counsel of the three accused, said Justice should be served to everyone.

Injustice has been done to the children (convicts). This decision has come due to political, public and media pressure, he added.

Rekha Sharma, Chairman of NCW also welcomed the Supreme Court's decision.

''I welcome this decision as it proves justice can be delayed but not denied. It's a landmark decision. This judgement shows that law takes its own course in this country,'' said Rekha Sharma.
