Had cut fuel prices by Rs 2 last month: Karnataka CM Kumaraswamy

Karnataka Chief Minister HD Kumaraswamy on Thursday stated that his government had already reduced fuel prices by Rs 2 last month hinting at the possibility of no new revision in fuel prices for the state.
CM Kumaraswamy's remarks came shortly after Union Finance Minister Arun Jaitley on Thursday announced a cut in fuel prices by Rs 2.50 and called for various state governments to follow the lead and implement appropriate fuel-price cut.
BJP president Amit Shah stated that all BJP-led states will implement a fuel-price cut by Rs 2.50.
"PM Modi today gave another decision in public interest by reducing the central tax on petrol and diesel price by Rs. 2.50 per litre. All the BJP-ruled states have also decided to reduce VAT by Rs.2.50 per litre on petrol and diesel prices," Shah told media.

State governments of Uttar Pradesh, Haryana, Chattisgarh, Tripura, Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh have already announced a fuel price cut by Rs 2.50. Maharashtra government contemplates cutting diesel prices whereas Jharkhand government has announced a cut in diesel price by Rs 2.50.
Finance Minister today stated that while the excise duty has been cut by Rs 1.5, various oil marketing companies will also absorb Rs 1 giving a cumulative relief of Rs 2.50 on fuel prices to the consumers.
