Golden Temple's main entrance to get gold-plating

World-renowned Golden Temple, also known as Darbar Sahib, is undergoing gold plating work. The Shiromani Gurdwara Parbandhak Committee (SGPC) has undertaken the task to gold-plate the main entrance of the holy site.

The temple is covered with 24-karat gold.

The SGPC, earlier this month, introduced eco-friendly compostable carry bags for the distribution of 'Karah Parshad' at the Golden Temple. The move aimed at discouraging the use of polythene bags at the site.
