At least five people were injured after a building collapsed in Keshavnagar in Pune’s Mundhwa locality, ANI reported. Two people, including a child, are believed to be trapped in the debris. 

Eight people have been rescued so far while one child is still feared trapped inside the building. The injured ones have been rushed to the hospital.

The building was 30 years old and it was served a notice by a municipal corporation. The rescue operation is underway. 

Reports inform that Pune district normally receives about 469.8 mm rainfall in these two months, but this year, it has already received 575.8 mm rain till July 18. 

The IMD has forecasted that Pune district may witness light to moderate rain till July 24.
