Exit Poll 2024: States where BJP is likely to make a clean sweep in Lok Sabha elections

As India's mammoth seven-phase elections drew to a close on Saturday, the nation's major media houses started publishing exit polls data in the evening. Most of them predicted a comfortable win for the Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA), with the incumbent bloc securing more than 300 seats, way above the majority mark of 272.

The exit poll data showed the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led alliance was all set for a clean sweep victory in almost half a dozen states. Following are the details.

Uttarakhand

The VMR Lok Sabha exit polls and Today's Chanakya predicted that BJP was most likely to retain all five seats in the state, meaning the opposition INDIA bloc was in for a major setback here.

Gujarat

India-Today Axis My India exit poll gave BJP 25-26 seats in Gujarat, the home state of PM Narendra Modi and a stronghold of his BJP. The exit poll, meanwhile, predicted that the Congress may win one seat in the state in the best case scenario. In the 2019 polls, BJP had secured all 26 Lok Sabha seats in the state.

Madhya Pradesh

Today’s Chanakya exit poll claimed the BJP was all set to win all 29 Lok Sabha seats in the state. A similar prediction was given by My Axis exit poll, leaving no room for Congress to open its account in the state. Meanwhile, the News18 Mega Exit Poll estimated BJP may win 25-26 seats in the state.

Delhi

The India Today-Axis My India exit poll projected that BJP may retain all seven seats in Delhi. The survey, however, gave 1 seat to the Congress-AAP alliance in the best case scenario. Here, the BJP was likely to secure a whopping 54 per cent vote share.

Chhattisgarh

BJP may emerge victorious in the state on 10-11 seats, India Today-Axis My India exit poll showed. The survey revealed the vote share of the party may also increase. Opposition Congress meanwhile may secure just one seat here.
