The film will see Taapsee playing the role of a lawyer, while Rishi Kapoor will play the accused in the case.
In the first teaser released for the film Mulk, Rishi Kapoor and Taapsee Pannu look intense and meaning business as they take up their respective roles of an accused and a lawyer.
The film will bring the story of Murad Ali Mohammed played by Rishi Kapoor who is the accused and the defence lawyer, Aarti Mohammed played by Taapsee Pannu. It has been shot exclusively in Lucknow and Benaras and is helmed by Anubhav Sinha.
The poster of the film was dropped some days back generating a curiosity for it.
The teaser begins with Rishi Kapoor shutting the doors of his house to the media. He is heard being called as a traitor by the people. Taapsee is heard in the background saying, "You and your family have been accused of betraying the country."
The film will also have Prateik Babbar, Ashutosh Rana, and Rajat Kapoor.
Talking about the film, Taapsee had earlier said, "This is a film which we all have done with our hearts because of the topic it deals with. It’s purely a passion-driven project for each and every member of the cast and crew. The energies on the set were so good and it drove us all to finish the film in record time. It has been an extremely satisfying experience to do Mulk."
The trailer for Mulk will be dropped soon, and the film will hit the theatres on August 3, 2018.
