
Talk about girl power! Kareena Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania's film 'Veere Di Wedding' has become the third highest opener of 2018. On its first day, the film earned a whopping Rs 10. 70 crore making it one of the biggest films after Baaghi 2 and Padmaavat.
The film which did not have a male star but was headlined by four women got off to a good start from Friday and did consistently well over the next two days.

Trade analyst Taran Adarsh took to social media to share the numbers as he wrote, "#VeereDiWedding has a WINNING START on Day 1... Makes its way into the TOP 5 OPENERS of 2018... Expected to build up a SOLID TOTAL over the weekend... Fri Rs 10.70 cr. India biz."

The film garnered nearly Rs 35 cores in three days and Adarsh expected the film's eaning to double up over the next few days.
An elated Sonam Kapoor took to Twitter to share the first day numbers of her film and said 'Clearly the future is female.'
The film's success has not only given a big boost to producers Ekta Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor, but it has also managed to break the myth that women-centric films do not do well at the box office.
The only prominent name among the actors in 'Veere Di Wedding' is Sumeet Vyas, who may be a star on the Internet but has been associated with Indie projects until now.
Touted as Kareena's first film post maternity break, the film was lauded by critics and audiences alike.
Whether the film makes it to the esteemed Rs 100 crore club or not is something we will have to wait and watch.
