
As she nails every character she takes up, Taapsee Pannu has now started shooting for Sujoy Ghosh’s next titled Badla. The film will see her reuniting with Amitabh Bachchan, her co-star of Pink.See their first picture from the sets.
In an interview with a Mumbai-based daily, Taapsee opened up about her character in the film as she portrays a strong and powerful entrepreneur.
Speaking about it, Taapsee said, "It will be unfair to both Sujoy and me if the film didn’t have such a character. I’ve been shooting films back-to-back over the last couple of months but most of them have been desi girls. Now suddenly, I’m in Scotland playing a sharp, powerful businesswoman based here, it’s a drastic jump. This woman is also not your conventional Sujoy heroine, as you will realise." Badla is an official remake of 2016 Spanish film Contratiempo, also called The Invisible Guest. Talking about the film being different or similar to the original, she said that many changes have been made in the Indian version, and the film is not a carbon copy. She added, "Sujoy didn’t want to do a copy–paste job. My memories of the original are hazy now and I deliberately didn’t refresh them because I wanted to approach the film with a fresh perspective. It’s a character I’ve been waiting for."
Apart from Badla, Taapsee will also be seen in Anurag Kashyap's Manmarziyaan, alongside Abhishek Bachchan and Vicky Kaushal. She will also be seen in Soorma opposite Diljit Dosanjh. She was last seen inHarshvardhan Kapoor's Bhavesh Joshi.
