Supreme Court stays proceedings in six cases against Salman Khan

In a huge relief to Salman Khan, the Supreme Court has stayed proceeding in six cases against the actor which are filed in different courts across the country.
The cases were filed against Salman Khan for allegedly demeaning the Valmiki Samaj. The court, though, will not hear if the FIR will be quashed or not.
The court has now given a new date for the hearing, i.e. April 23. The commission issued the notice after an ex-chairman of the Delhi Commission for Safai Karamcharis, Harnam Singh filed a complaint in this regard.
Singh, in his complaint, said that the actor used the word "bhangi"during TV shows "which clearly insults the entire Valmiki community of the world."
Salman had used the word during the promotion of his film "Tiger Zinda Hai"at a reality dance show.
