Richa Chadha turns director for a short film that features Ali Fazal in the lead

Richa Chadha is one actor who wears many hats. Not only is she a great actress but also a writer, a singer and now she’s all set to don the director's hat!

The actress who has been part of path-breaking cinema has turned director. Richa has reportedly gone behind the lenses to shoot her first short film- a satirical comedy. The untitled film is set in 2025 when vegetables are way beyond expensive and the world has become beyond repair owing to rapid human development.The film will aim to highlight the persisting issues of environment and global warming and how human beings are ignoring the depletion of natural resources. The cast of the film includes her boyfriend, actor Ali Fazal, comedian Aadar Malik, Satyajeet Dubey and is produced by Richa’s close friend and actor Vishaka Singh.

The film was shot last week and will be releasing in the coming month.

Speaking about the new film, Richa said, “This was a first for me behind the camera. I have produced a short earlier but this is the first time I took up the role of a director. I have always wanted to explore the satire genre. I am just glad my friends trusted me and came on board in such a short notice- in the capacity of actors and creative people. I look forward to casting more deserving actors in unconventional parts, even in the future. This film is super fun!”
