Payal Ghosh who debuted in Bollywood last year, to play character inspired by Raadhe Maa

Actress Payal Ghosh who debuted in Bollywood last year with "Patel Ki Punjabi Shaadi" along with Rishi Kapoor and Paresh Rawal, will next be seen in Saurabh Verma’s next film -- playing a role inspired by Radhe Maa, a controversial spiritual leader in India.

The film helmed by the director of "Mickey Virus"fame is titled “Jai Mata Di” in which Payal will play the lead role.

While speaking about the film, Payal expressed how happy she is to be offered this role as she thinks “it's the best script she has heard so far and will be a turning point in her filmography too.”

As per a report published in a fashion magazine, a source close to the actress revealed: "Jai Mata Di' is that kind of film which Payal wanted to do since a long time. Payal’s character is loosely based on Radhe Maa and she is not leaving any stones unturned for the same. It's a rom-com and when the director of the film Saurabh Verma approached Payal for the role she readily accepted it. The film will go on floors from August and major part of the film will be shot in UP. They are yet to finalise the lead actor of the film.”

Talking about the film, Payal said, "After my first film, I was looking for a script which will excite me not as an actor but as a viewer and 'Jai Mata Di' is the perfect film. I am currently prepping for the film and since my character is loosely based Radhe Maa, I have been watching several videos of hers to get into the skin of the character. I am eagerly waiting for the film to start."
