
Lead actresses of the hit film Veere Di Wedding, Sonam Kapoor and Kareena Kapoor Khan are not even done basking in the success of their film that the makers have already started planning a girl-gang sequel. In a change from the first film, makers are now mulling over a sequel to be directed by a different director than the previous one. See their pictures of holiday in London.
Veere Di Wedding was helmed by Shashanka Ghosh while according to a report published in a daily, the sequel will be directed by Alankrita Shrivastava of Lipstick Under My Burkha to bring through a different edge to the film. A source was quoted in the report as: “Ekta wants Alankrita Shrivastava (director of Lipstick Under My Burkha) to direct VDW 2. Nothing has been finalised yet, but that’s the idea they are toying with.”
Veere Di Wedding had four girlfriends who play an important role in each other’s lives. It starred Kareena Kapoor Khan, Sonam Kapoor, Swara Bhasker and Shikha Talsania as the film released on June 1.
The film, while earning massive numbers at the box office also started a social media debate after a particular scene offended by watchers -- masturbation scene picturised on Swara Bhasker. This is what Sonam Kapoor has to say about it.
Meanwhile, Lipstick Under My Burkha was also critically acclaimed at the box office. It starred Ratna Pathak Shah and Konkona Sen Sharma among others.
