Accused in the abduction and molestation case of a Malayalam actress, Dileep was expelled from the film body earlier.
Actor Dileep, who was ousted from the Association of Malayalam Movie Artists (AMMA) in connection with the abduction and sexual assault of a Malayalam actress, has been reinstated in the association.
According to sources, the annual general body meeting of the association took the decision to take back Dileep following strong pressure from members. Actor Mohanlal has been appointed at the President of the association.
The decision to expel Dileep was taken at an emergency meeting of AMMA at actor Mammootty's residence in Panampilly Nagar on July 11, 2017, a day after his arrest. Dileep was at that time the treasurer of the association.
Dileep was granted bail after serving 85 days in jail.
