'Baahubali 2' to release in China on May 4, makers hope for a better response than 'Baahubali'

After breaking all box office records of an Indian film performing in domestic and worldwide markets, “Baahubali 2” is now looking for a release on May 4 in China.

The makers of Prabhas’ “Baahubali 2” are hopeful that the second film of the franchise will perform better than the first, “Baahubali: The Beginning” as the latter did not receive a good response in the Chinese market.

The makers of the hit franchise are now following the likes of other Bollywood films that have made a mark on the Chinese turf, such as Aamir Khan’s “Dangal”, “PK”, “Secret Superstar” and Salman Khan’s “Bajrangi Bhaijaan”. In case of “Dangal”, which released last year on May 5 in China, the country’s love for the film changed the overall numbers for Aamir Khan starrer hit film.
