Ajith, known for his negative role in Malayalam film industry died

Kollam Ajith Kumar, 56, a Malayalam film star who was known for his negative role in the movie, 'Paranu Paranu Paranu', died on Thursday at a private hospital, family sources said.

He was admitted to the hospital 10 days ago because of some health issues.

Ajith was reportedly suffering from stomach-related ailments for quite some time and was recently admitted to a private hospital in Kochi. He breathed his last at 3:40 am.

His first movie hit the threater in 1984 was 'Paranu Paranu Paranu' which was a box office hit. It was directed by Malayali director Padmarajan.

Ajith was known for his negative roles in the movies and his role in "Irupathaam Noottaandu" (1987) starring Mohanlal was well appreciated. He was always the first choice for a villian role in the Malayali film industry.

Ajith`s body will be taken to Kollam, where the last rites would be performed later in the day.
