Our desi girl Priyanka Chopra seems to be keen to star in some Hindi films as her last Bollywood film released in 2016, Jai Gangaajal. If reports are to be believed, Priyanka has been approached by filmmaker Shonali Bose to star in a film opposite her Dostana co-star Abhishek Bachchan.
Shonali made her directorial debut with Kalki Koechlin starrer Margarita with a Straw that went on to receive critical reviews and accolades for the actress for her performance. In the new film, Shonali wants Priyanka to essay the real-life hero, Aisha Chaudhary.
Aisha, for those who are unaware, was a motivational speaker who was diagnosed with pulmonary fibrosis at the age of 13. The teenager, however, continued her fight against the illness and even published a book titled My Little Epiphanies. She also held several motivational talks and speeches at the age of 15. Aisha breathed her last at the age of 18, succumbing to her disease.
According to a source quoted in a report published in a tabloid: "Shonali met with Abhishek recently on the sets of Manmarziyan and shared the idea with him. He liked it and she will be giving him the final narration soon. If he comes on board, Priyanka and he will play parents to the young protagonist casting for which is currently underway. Meanwhile, Shonali is working on the script and hopes to start shooting by the year-end."
Priyanka and Abhishek have managed to give several hit films together while looking good with each other on the screen.
Also, Priyanka will be seen opposite Salman Khan in Ali Abbas Zafar’s Bharat that will go on floors next month. The movie will mark Priyanka’s return to Bollywood after a gap of two years.
