Engine of Delhi-Ranchi flight shut down midway, plane returns to capital

An IndiGo flight en route to Ranchi from Delhi returned midway to New Delhi airport on Sunday after the flight experienced an engine glitch.

Indigo VT-ITE Neo aircraft (6E 509) returned after the crew carried out an engine in-flight shutdown.

A press release from IndiGo Airlines stated their crew carried out the engine in-flight shutdown following standard industry procedure. The airlinefurther said that the matter has been reported to the regulator.

There were about 183 passengers in the flight who returned safely to the New Delhi airport along with the 7 crew members.
