Delhi: NGT warns builders to fine Rs 1 lakh in case construction is reported

The National Green Tribunal has asked the Delhi government to impose Rs one lakh fine on builders who violate its directives of halting construction work in the city.

The NGT has asked builders to stopconstruction work for few days to reduce the level of pollutants from the air.

It has also directed state governments to ensure that farmers are not burning crops.

The tribunal has said to charge a considerableamount of fine from the salary of theresponsible officer if they continue to indulge in crop burning.
