Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal was given insulin on Monday night in India's Tihar Jail after his blood sugar level skyrocketed to 320. The Aam Aadmi Party leader on Monday (Apr 22)accused the Tihar prison management of failing to provide him with insulin despite numerous demands.
Tihar deniedKejriwal'saccusations, saying specialists from All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) did not recommend insulin.
“Finally, the BJP [ruling Bharatiya Janata Party] and its jail administration came to their senses and gave INSULIN to CMArvind Kejriwalin jail," the AAP wrote on X.
"CMKejriwal'ssugar level had reached 320.Thishas been possible only due to the blessings of Lord Hanuman and the struggle of the people of Delhi. We havesucceeded in deliveringinsulin to our Chief Minister,” it said.
"Todayitis clear that the Chief Minister was right, heneeded insulin.Butthe officials undertheBJP'scentral government were deliberately not treating him," Delhi Minister and AAP leader Saurabh Bharadwaj said in a statement.
"Tell meBJPpeople! If insulin is not neededthenwhy are you giving it now? Because the whole world is cursing them," he asked.

Kejriwal refuted the jailadministration'sclaim that he never brought up the topic of insulin during his meetings with the doctors in a letter he sent to the Tihar jail superintendent on Monday.
The Delhi CM maintains that throughout 10 days, hebrought up the subject of insulin requirementrepeatedly.
"Ishowed my high sugar levels to every doctor who came to see me. I showed them that there were three peaks in the sugar level every day -- between 250-320,"Kejriwal said in his letter.
"Ialso showed them that my fasting sugar level wasin the range of160-200 every day. Almost every day, I demanded insulin. Then how could you make such a statement that I never raised theissue of insulin?"he added.
Delhi BJP president Virendra Sachdeva said: "Of course, Arvind Kejriwal is a diabetic, but his sugar is under control in jail because he did not ask for insulin even during the video interaction with the doctors of AIIMS and RML."
The Delhi chief minister has been in Tihar jail since April 1 after being taken into custody by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on March 21in relation toa money-laundering case involving the government ofDelhi'snow-canceled excise policy.
