Delhi: 4 killed in major fire in building

A major fire broke out in the stilt parking of a four-storeyed building in northwest Delhi's Kohat Enclave, killing four people of a family. 

The family members died of suffocation, an official from the Delhi Fire Service said, adding that three other people were injured.

The four members of the family, including two children, were sleeping on the first floor and after they saw smoke emanating from downstairs they tried to escape but were suffocated to death.

Ten fire tenders were rushed to the spot after the fire department received a call at 2:48 am. The fire was doused by around 4 am, an official said.
