At least 72 people have died in Kerala due to rain-related incidents in the state, reports said.

The State Department Control Room has stated that over 200 houses have been completely damaged while more than 7,000 houses have beenpartially destroyed. The disaster has also destroyed crops accounting for more than Rs 80.29 crore.

An estimated destruction of Rs 98.19 crore has been caused due to the disaster in the state.

The government has set up relief camps at various districts to accommodate the people affected by the rains. About10 relief camps are temporarily rehabilitating over 300 people in the state.

The weather department hasissued warnings for thunderstorms with gusty winds and heavy rainfall in the state till June 29.

The Indian Meteorological Department has also issued warnings to the fishermen.
