
Mumbai got its highest December rainfall in 142 years on Tuesday, as Cyclone Ockhi passed off the coast.
The observatory at Colaba received 70.4 mm of rainfall and the one at Santa Cruz received 36 mm in 24 hours, news reports said.
This was the highest December rainfall recorded in Mumbai since 1875.
The last recorded high of December rainfall was on December 12, 1967, when the city received 31.4 mm of rainfall in 24 hours.
High tide in Mumbai today (4.29 metres) will occur at 1.32 pm today.
The weather in Mumbai however has cleared since midnight Tuesday.
The city has got no rain since then, with the skies having cleared.
