COVID-19 will increase significantly in Delhi, warns CM Kejriwal

Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal said that this is the "time for all governments and organizations to stand together to defeat coronavirus and not the time to fight with each other and do politics."

The Delhi chief minister asserted that LG Anil Baijal's directives will be "implemented in letter and spirit". Kejriwal said this is not the time for disagreements or arguments after LG over-ruledDelhi cabinet's decision onreserving hospitals for residents.

The Delhi chief minister who tested negative for the virus after declaring COVID-19 like symptoms on Monday, saidthat social distancing and use of masks had become a "people's movement" just like the "odd-even" scheme.

Kejriwal said that data showed that COVID-19 cases will "significantly increase" in the capital in the coming days with the city needing 1.5 lakh beds by July 31.

The chief minister addedthat there were 31,000 coronavirus cases in the national capital with 18,000 active cases.

Delhi's deputy chief minister Manish Sisodia had said on Tuesday that by July 31, 5.5 lakh COVID-19 cases were expected with 80,000 beds needed in the city.
