Court to pronounce verdict in Asaram rape case on April 25

The court hearing of Asaram rape case was completed on Saturday and the SC/ST court in Jodhpur will now pronounce its judgement on April 25.

Asaramhas been lodged in the Jodhpur jail since 2013 after his arrest on August 31, 2013.

The case is related to 16-year-old victim from Shahjahanpur, Uttar Pradesh who had accused him of raping her in his Jodhpur Ashram.The family of the victimhad also reported of receiving threats and harassments from the supporters of Asaram.

The complaint was lodged in Delhi's Kamla Market police station which was later transferred to Jodhpur.

On August 28, 2017, the Supreme Court hadquestioned the delay in theproceedings of thecase and expressed its disappointment over it.
