Civil Services topper calls Ram Gopal Varma his inspiration; filmmaker says he wants to meet him

The glory days of Ram Gopal Varma may be a thing of past, but the maverick filmmaker continues to inspire many. The latest is Yadavalli Akshay Kumar, one of the toppers from Andhra Pradesh in the civil service exams this year. 

During an interview to a TV channel, Kumar stated that how RGV has been a great source of inspiration for him. 

"RGV thinks differently and has changed my mindset completely. I never end my day without listening to RGV’s Youtube videos," Kumar was quoted as saying. 

Kumar admission left the filmmaker pleasantly surprised. RGV took to Twitter to share the topper's videos and wrote, " Yedavalli Akshay Kumar a Civils Topper takes inspiration from a failed Civil engineer ..Watch from 23:45 to 28:30 Hey Akshay I would like to meet you and talk to u about education. (sic)" 

"For all those who thought i inspire only criminals and perverts take a listen to what this Civil Topper is saying  ..The  irony is that I was a terrible student and failed in Civil engineering twice but proud about it(sic)" the filmmaker further added. 

Kumar also stated that he has watched RGV's cult classic 'Satya' more than 100 times.
