Pakistani officials evacuated more than 50 Chinese nationals working near the Kashmir frontier, authorities said Wednesday, after a strong response from the Indian Army to its unprovoked and indiscriminate firing.

The Chinese were working on a dam being constructed along the confluence of the Neelam and Jhelum rivers when firing pushed authorities to move the workers late on Tuesday, news agency AFP said quoting Akhtar Ayub from the local disaster management authority.

The Pakistani troops resorted to unprovoked firing along the Line of Control (LoC) in Jammu and Kashmir's Rajouri district.

An Indian woman died following the exchange along the Line of Control (LoC) in Gurez sector.

On Sunday, three civilians including a 10-day-old baby sustained injuries in the ceasefire violation by Pakistan. The baby later succumbed to the injuries.

This is the fourth consecutive day of firing and shelling by the Pakistan Army targeting civilian areas along the LoC.
