CBI moves extradition request against Nirav Modi's brother Nishal

The Central Bureau of Investigation on Monday moved an extradition request against diamantaire Nirav Modi's brother Nishal Modi, news agency ANI reported.
According to reports, the extradition report was sent to the Ministry of Home Affairs of September 7 which will be forwarded to Belgium where Nishal Modi is believed to be at present.
Nishal Modi, a Belgian national, is already facing an Interpol Red Corner Notice issued on the request of the CBI. He is accused of creating dummy partners and is believed to be a beneficiary of funds syphoned off from Punjab National Bank

Meanwhile, a red corner notice has been issued by the Interpol against Purvi Modi, a Belgian national and absconding billionaire jeweller Nirav Modi's sister, in connection with the alleged USD 2 billion PNB money laundering case, officials said on Monday.
The notice, which acts as an international arrest warrant, states that Purvi Deepak Modi, 44, is wanted on charges of "money laundering".
