Authorities imposed restrictions in parts of Srinagar city and some other places in the Kashmir Valley on Sunday to prevent a protest called by the separatists to mark the second death anniversary of Hizbul commander Burhan Wani.
Amarnath yatra has also been suspended from Jammu for a day following a strike called by terrorist supporters.
Wani, a resident of Tral, was killed in an encounter with security forces in the Kokernag area of south Kashmir's Anantnag district on 8 July, 2016. His killing triggered massive protests and prolonged period of curfews and shutdowns across the Valley. As many as 85 people were killed and a thousand others were injured in clashes between security forces and protesters over four months.
Senior separatist leaders, Syed Ali Geelani and Mirwaiz Umer Farooq were placed under house arrest. Muhammad Yasin Malik was taken into preventive custody.
