Reports suggest that the Modi government may boost its 'housing for all' vision by going big on announcements for the low-income group in this year's budget.

The Prime Minister Housing Scheme, also known as the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna, may introduce more options to cater to the low-income group, lure them and make housing more affordable.

Interest subsidy under the scheme can be extended. People with an annual income of 6 lakh may now get bigger houses by 60 meters.

The Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojna has not been able to garner enough demand from the low-income group owing to smaller sizes of the houses offered under the scheme.
