
Andhra PradeshLok Sabha Election Result 2024:Telugu Desam Party or TDP is helping its NDA ally BJP, with the two parties leading in 16 and 3 seats out of the total of 25 in the southern state of Andhra Pradesh as counting continues on Tuesday (June 4). YSRCP, which rules the state, is ahead only infour seats, while JNP is ahead in two at the time of writing this.
The southernIndian state of Andhra Pradesh went to polls in the fourth phase of the Lok Sabha elections on 13th May to elect members for the 18th Lok Sabha from the state. As per the data from the Election Commission of India (ECI), the voter turnout of 81.86per cent was recordedfrom the 25constituencies of the state.YSRCPand TDP are the two major parties in the state, both regional. In the 2019 elections, theYSRCP had won 22 seats, and TDP 3.Kadapa, Vijayawada, Vizianagaram and Guntur are some of the key seats in the state where the battle is intense among the regional parties. This time around, the TDP has forged an alliance with BJP in the state.
From the NDA alliance, TDP is contesting 17 seats in the state, BJP six and the Jana Sena Party twoseats. Earlier on Saturday, exit polls predicted a clear win for the NDA alliance in the state, with the BJP-led bloc expected to win 19-25 seats andthe YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) expected to win up to eight seats at most.
